TECHNICOAT 360 Ultra is Asterion’s latest development in high corrosion zinc passivation technology meeting RoHS requirements.
TECHNICOAT ZNBL 360 ULTRA is a unique economical to use, all trivalent , high corrosion, thin film passivate for electrogalvanized zinc. When properly applied to electroplated zinc it will produce a consistently blue bright finish that can meet 192 hours of neutral salt spray to white corrosion products without a top coat or seal. (ASTM 117B). TECHNICOAT ZNBL 360 ULTRA can be used as a trivalent yellow when used with TECHNICOAT ZNBL 360 ULTRA YD. When added to TECHNICOAT ZNBL 360 ULTRA a consistent and rich yellow color is produced (Color will depend upon time, temperature and concentration of the passivating solution). TECHNICOAT ZNBL 360 ULTRA YD maintains its stability in the chromating bath, eliminating the need for constant replenishment of the dye material. TECHNICOAT 360 ULTRA plus YD has been specifically formulated to work in barrel and rack processes using alkaline or acid zinc systems. When properly applied to electroplated zinc it will produce a consistently yellow finish that can meet 96 hours of neutral salt spray to white corrosion products without a top coat or seal. The blue-bright or yellow films will easily accept Asterion TECHNISEAL and TECHNILUBE post dips to enhance corrosion resistance, lubricity or both.

Typical operating parameters for TECHNICOAT 360 Ultra
- 5.0-10.0 percent by volume concentration with an application bath temperature of 80-100oF (27-37.5oC).
- The pH is maintained at 1.8-2.2.
Production results of TECHNICOAT 360 Ultra
- On zinc substrates produced from a chloride electrolyte have achieved a minimum of 120 hours in barrel and 168 hours in rack plating to white corrosion products.
- On alkaline plated zinc substrates have achieved up to a 50 percent increase in time until the appearance of first white corrosion products.
